Hiking back down from Audrey & Colton’s emotionally beautiful elopement at an alpine lake in the Colorado Rockies, Audrey stopped on the trail and said, “We’re going on our honeymoon next weekend in Iceland. Do you guys want to come and photograph it?” Of course, there was no way we could say no to an Iceland adventure honeymoon session!
What followed was a whirlwind four days of road trips along Iceland’s southeast and southwest coasts. They explored petrified lava fields, kissed beneath a waterfall that the Elves of Rivendelle would’ve envied, and shrieked and laughed as they ran from the waves on Black Sands Beach.
Audrey & Colton are lovers of experiences and spontaneity, so an Iceland adventure honeymoon session made perfect sense for them. They wanted to be able to look back and remember their exploration of this magical island forever.
It was an incredibly special experience to capture their first few days of marital bliss; to capture their joy, wonder and hilarity. These are the moments that are so often undocumented because honeymoons are too often overshadowed by wedding photography. Honeymoon memories should be just as cherished because it’s the second half of your wedding story!
Oh wow! What a lovely idea- to capture a honeymoon. I just visited these same areas in Iceland last summer and it’s stunning how you used the setting as a third subject. Amazing work!
I wanted so badly to capture the magic of Iceland’s landscape too, so I can’t tell you how much your comment means to me! Thank you!
Omg this session gives me all the feels. So beautiful!
Nothing makes me happier to hear that—thank you 🙂
Wow!! Stunning photos in a gorgeous location! And what a sweet couple!
